Practical advice for traveling

Good physical condition recommended due to height and climatic variations.

Recommended vaccines

DTPolio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B. For the Amazon, yellow fever. Little risk of malaria except in the circuits of the Amazon (from Trinidad).

 

Personal first-aid kit

Your usual medicines; vitamin C or poly vitamin; pain medications: aspirin or its equivalent; anti-diarrheic (Imodium type ...) + intestinal antiseptic; Long-range antibiotic treatment: provide 8 days of treatment (with medical prescription); anti-inflammatory ointment; eye drops (powder, ophthalmia); pills to purify the water; Scotch tape; plasters + disinfectant compresses; protection against blisters, available in pharmacy); treatment against cold and sore throat, ointment against burns.
